We have the mumps. Well, Tristan does and it is likely all the littles will follow. I found this:

Tristan is really sick, but he is also doing pretty well. It seems the symptoms are isolated to a fever and the salivary gland swelling. There are no body aches or coughs or stuffy noses. The swelling causes ear pain and without pain medication he cannot open his mouth to eat. When a person with mumps eats sour things it causes the salivary glands to try to be active, which is painful. Hence the teasing sibling above, who will say no sour things now that he, too, has the mumps.

Anatoly cried most of last night. Mumps? Rome is crying and fussy today. Mumps? We have about 14 days before we can say kids are done toppling with mumps like dominoes. Today I made a big batch of bone broth and cleaned the house. We have our natural arsenal: Echinacea, Astragalus, Elderberry, Cod Liver Oil and Emergen-C. Hot tea, raw honey. Kombucha.

Today is November First and I said I would participate in National Blog Post Month. Mumps and all!
